God reigns supreme over everything in the universe. The supremacy of God in this article will be based on the events involving Elijah, Ahaz, Obadiah and the prophets of baal. Meanwhile, recall that Ahaz was a king in Isreal who reigned over Samaria, and unfortunately, he committed more evils and sins than his predecessors. In this regard, God established His supremacy before him and his kingdom through the faithfulness and works of prophet Elijah.

In the third year of the drought (over the kingdom of Ahaz), God told Elijah to present himself before king Ahaz, telling him He will send rain on the land. As Elijah went, Obadiah met him on the way, and greeted him by bowing down to the ground. Elijah replied: 'go and tell your master that Elijah is here'.
Obadiah feared he might be killed if king Ahaz who had desperately searched for Elijah should come and not find him. He envisaged this because he feared that the spirit of God could move Elijah to another place. Obadiah was also afraid because he reasoned that the king may have become aware of how he hid a hundred prophets of God in two caves and fed them.

However, Elijah assured Obadiah that as the Lord Almighty lives, he will surely present himself to Ahab today. Obadiah trusted Elijah's word and went away to find Ahab, relating Elijah's message to him. Immediately, Ahab went to meet Elijah saying, ‘is that you, you troubler of Isreal?’, implying that Elijah was responsible for the drought. Elijah declined the statement saying that Ahab himself brought the drought upon his kingdom by abandoning the Lord's command and following baal.

In order to practically show the supremacy of God to the people of Isreal, Elijah directed Ahab to summon the the people of Isreal to meet him on mount Camel. He further told Ahab to come along with the 450 prophets of baal and 450 prophets of asherah so that himself and these prophets will display the supremacy of their God through a challenge. (1 Kings 18:19).

On the day of challenge, two bulls were brought forward. Elijah asked the prophets of baal to choose one while he took the other. He set a task before them. It states below:
Cut into pieces the bull and put it on a wood, but do not set fire on it. I will prepare the other bull and put it on the wood but not set fire on it. Then you will call on the name of your god and I will call on the LORD. The god who answers by fire - he is God.
1st Kings 18:23-24
The people were indeed delighted with the above-mentioned statement as they watched along.

The prophets of baal prepared their sacrifice (that is, the bull) and called upon their god to consume it by fire. They danced around the alter, shouted and even cut themselves with swords and spears until their blood flowed; but nothing happened. Mockingly, Elijah taunted them that perhaps their god may be asleep, busy or lost in thought. They called even more upon their god from morning through evening, yet their god couldn't pay attention as it was nowhere to be found. Consider the following statements below:
Can you take a moment to imagine how weird baal prophets would look (based on their action) when they called upon their god?
After their failure to call fire on their sacrifice, can you imagine how disgraced the prophets of baal would be at their show of shame before the people?
Anyways, the weirdness of their action, embarrassment and show of shame exhibited by the prophets of baal was simply orchestrated by God's supremacy.
Now came the turn of Elijah. He repaired the alter of the Lord by taking twelve stones with each representing the tribe of Isreal, and built the alter in the name of the Lord with them. He also dug a trench around the alter. He demanded the people to pour four large jars of water on the offering (prepared bull) and the wood. This they did a second and third time until the water ran down around the alter and filled the trench.
When the time to offer the sacrifice came, Elijah called on the God of Abraham, Isaac and Israel. Below were his prayers:
Lord, the God of Abraham, Isaac and Israel, let it be known today that you are God in Israel and that I am your servant and have done all these things at your command. Answer me, Lord, answer me, so these people will know that you, Lord, are God, and that you are turning their hearts back again.
1st Kings 18:36-37
To the view of everyone present, the fire of God came down and consumed the sacrifice, wood, stones, soil and even the water in the trench. Through this very act, the supremacy of God is once again displayed to the people. Immediately, they fell prostrate and cried: The Lord - He is God! The Lord - He is God! (1 Kings 18:39).
After God manifested His supremacy through the above challenge, Elijah commanded the disgraced prophets of baal to be seized, and all were slaughtered at the kishon valley.

Note: King Ahab was present when all of these happened. From the outcome of the challenge, Ahaz himself would have been disgraced since him and his wife Jezebel also worshipped baal. He was also aware of the mass killing of the 450 baal prophets but could do nothing about it.
Recall that it was Elijah who prophesized drought on Ahaz's kingdom as a punishment for his many sins. It is worthy of note to state that the outcome of this prophesy was to show the supremacy of God over the land where Ahaz reigned as king. In this light, Elijah told him: 'Go, eat and drink, for there is the sound of heavy rain'. As king Ahab hastily rode off to Jezreel, a heavy rain' poured down. This marked the end of the drought which lasted for about three and half years, all by the command of God.

The parable of the prodigal son as narrated by Jesus himself is one that shows God's incomprehensible mercy and love. This parable is present in the gospel of Luke 15: 11-32.
Jesus began by saying:
There was once a man who had two sons. The younger one said to him, 'Father, give me my share of the property now'. So the man divided his properties between his two sons.

From the above passage, it is quite clear that the younger brother had lost interest in the family's affairs. He must have pondered in his heart the sweetness of complete independence on a life of financial abundance.
To actualize his thoughts, he had the effrontery to go to his father to request for his inheritance even though his father is fully alive and active.

Adam and Eve disobeyed God while in the Garden of Eden. Below are the consequences of Adam and Eve's disobedience:
All God's creature became guilty of original sin.
Human perfection was lost.
God's judgement was pronounced on the snake, woman and man.

Wise men from the east came to visit the infant king. Upon their arrival, they saw the child with his mother Mary. They knelt down and worshiped the infant (Jesus).
Notice that the bible recorded that the wise men knelt down and worshipped the infant (Jesus), according to Matthew 2:11.
Only God can be worshiped. Jesus is always God, even as a baby.

Gold represents a symbol of Jesus' kingship. Jesus is the King of kings, even at birth and throughout eternity.
Frankincense represents a symbol of Jesus' divinity and a sign of worship. Only God can be worshipped; and as such, Jesus is fully God.
Myrrh represents a symbol of Jesus' death. Jesus is truly man, and this is why he was able to suffer and die on the cross.

Our first parent, Adam and Eve enjoyed a life of complete happiness before they committed sin. They never knew what pain nor sorrow was until they disobeyed God. In short, both were perfect beings until they committed the sin of disobedience against God.
Disobedience may simple be defined as the failure to obey rules, command or someone in authority.
Adam and Eve were the first human beings to disobey God.
