Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring, all of which have the potential to turn a life around - Leo Buscaglia
The most important things we can give to others are actually not expensive. In fact, we don't have to buy them with money because they are right within us.
These include our kind words, listening ears, honest compliments, our 'thank you', those beautiful smiles, our loving corrections, sincere kindness and a caring heart
In the end, it isn't the years in your life that count. It is the life in your years - Abraham Lincoln
One fact remains constant to us all, and that's death. We are not guaranteed of tomorrow because no living human is too old to die, even a newly born. Remember, age is also a number.
Therefore, let us always do good, help the poor, care for the sick and less privileged, forgive transgressions and most importantly, extend the hands of love to everyone we come across.
By doing this, we would have added an abundance of life to our years, regardless its number. Recall that Jesus Christ Himself died at 33
You cannot win everytime. This therefore makes defeat a part of life. However, it is the way and manner at which we rise from our defeats that determines our place among the greats.
Muhammad Ali was a professional boxer with 56 wins and 5 defeats. However, the way and manner at which he rose from his defeats secured his place in boxing history as the greatest fighter of all time
One Day or Day One, you decide - Unknown
We all intend to become great in life. However, we should also understand that it doesn't take one day to become great. Rather it takes many days of work, practice, diligence, failures and successes to become great.
My question to you is this: Concerning your path to greatness, what day are you in?
Whatever you are, be a good one - Abraham Lincoln
If you are a boy, be a good boy. If you are a girl, be a good girl. If you are a man, be a good man. If you are a woman, be a good woman. If you are a student, be a good student. If you are a teacher, be a good teacher.
I can go on and on; but the point is: You are human, so do all in your power to be a good human
Arrowhead lines are lines with pointed edges at one or both ends. The pointed edges are in the form of an arrow.
Arrowhead lines are used:
At the end of dimensional lines.
As measurement lines.
A thin continuous line could be a straight or curved line. However, the main point to remember is this: 'it is a tiny line with no dot or dashes within it'.

A thin continuous line is used for representing the followings:
Projection lines
Hatching lines
Construction lines
Short center lines
Measurement lines
Diagonal lines used to state plane surfaces
Intersections
Leader lines
Backside section lines
Any action that involves the servicing, checking, replacing and repairing of an equipment, object or device is termed maintenance.
Maintenance has two main goals. These are:
To prevent a breakdown
To repair the breakdown
Below are the types of maintenance:
Preventive maintenance
Corrective maintenance
Predictive maintenance
Periodic maintenance
Reinforcement
Overhaul
Softwoods are often derived from coniferous trees, that is: trees with needle-like leaves, and whose seeds are covered in cones.
Below are some characteristics of softwood:
Most softwood have lower densities than hardwood (weighs lower).
In terms of price, they are often less expensive than hardwood.
Their growth rate is faster than hardwood.
Most softwood do not shed their needle-like leaves during the year. However, the softwood 'larch' and 'cypress' are exceptions.
They are less fire resistant.
The diagram below shows the various types of line in technical drawing, their description and general application:
Please read more on the types of line in technical drawing here
Preventive maintenance is carried out routinely on a device even though no apparent fault may be present on such device.
The goal of preventive maintenance as the name suggest is to prevent a sudden breakdown on a device or equipment.
As an instance, a person who services his or her car monthly even though the car is still able to function correctly is said to be carrying out preventive maintenance on the car.
In the course of a preventive maintenance, worn out parts may be discovered and replaced as soon as possible. Also, there may be a change of oil while other little adjustments may also be carried out.
We can even carry out preventive maintenance on our body to prevent certain diseases. For this reason, some persons have discovered cancerous cells in their body through regular medical checkup; and were able to kill such cells before they become malignant.
As a matter of fact; immunization is a form of preventive maintenance.
Hardwoods are derived from angiosperms. They show the following characteristics:
They usually have a higher density than softwood. Balsa is an exception.
They are usually more expensive than softwood.
They grow at a slower rate than softwood.
Hardwood trees shed their leaves in certain times of the year.
Hardwood are more fire resistant than softwood.
The leaves of hardwood trees are evergreen.
They are used for making quality furniture (in terms of strength). They are also suitable for decking in buildings.
Hardwood trees always have divided trunks which are sometimes referred to as a dendritic form.
In terms of price, hardwood are usually more expensive than softwood.
Examples of hardwood include iroko, ash, beech, alder, teak, birch, mahogany, maple, oak, balsa and walnut.
Ceramics are refractory. They also require a very high amount of heat and subsquent cooling to be formed.
Being refractory means that they are capable of withstanding a variety of abuses like high temperatures and chemical attacks.
Ceramics are generally made by taking clay from the ground and mixing it with water. It is then shaped into any form and fired inside an oven (called kiln) at a very high temperature. They may then be decorated with a waterproof, paint-like substances called glazes.
Ceramics may have constrasting physical and chemical properties (or characteristics); but in general,
They have high melting points.
They are heat resistant.
They can be very hard with great strength; although a few are brittle or soft; for example, graphite.
They are durable (last for a long time).
Most are electrical insulators (cannot conduct electricity) but; graphite is an electrical conductor.
They are chemically unreactive or inert.
They are not easily oxidized.
Most are non-magnetic.
