One of the most important teaching of Jesus in the gospel is seen in John 6:25-71. Here, Jesus declares himself as the bread of life (or the living bread). He declared this fact boldly, openly and with authority in John 6:53. It states thus: 'unless you eat the flesh of the son of man and drink his blood, you will have no life in you, that whoever eats his flesh and drinks his blood has eternal life'. The son of man in this bible verse refers to Jesus himself. Also, Jesus publicly declared himself as the bread of life in John 6:48. It states: 'I am the bread of life'.

The miracle of feeding five thousand men with five loaves of bread and two fishes paved way for Jesus' teaching as the living bread. This teaching of Jesus (as the living bread) had been explained in details via the link above. In summary, Jesus shows us that he is the loving saviour that provides food for our body and soul. Interestingly, the five thousand men unhesitatingly accepted the bread for the body but rejected that of the soul. In this regard, they turned their back on Jesus, failing to understand that he is the living bread that had come down from heaven, and of course, the perfect food for their soul. Importantly, Jesus still remains the ideal food for the soul of all mankind, even to the end of time.

This teaching is crucial for the soul of mankind. This is true because Jesus' body and blood is the ideal food for our soul. Without this food, one will likely lack the spiritual strength to journey into the kingdom of heaven. Therefore, in obedience to Jesus' command, christians must eat his body and drink his blood in the forms of bread (and wine). Jesus confirms this through his statement in Luke 22:19-20. It states: 'And he took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to them, saying, This is my body given for you; do this in remembrance of me. In the same way, after the supper he took the cup, saying, this cup is the new covenant in my blood, which is poured out for you.'
Notice that Jesus gave instructions on the breaking of bread (which signifies his body and blood) to be done in remembrance (or memory) of him. This action of Jesus confirms his declaration as the living bread (or bread of life).
Below are the lessons learnt from Jesus' teaching as the living bread (or bread of life):
Jesus signifies his body as the living bread and food for our soul. He did this without mincing words.
This living bread (body of Jesus) is mandatory for our spiritual journey towards our heavenly homeland.
Man must not depend on food for the body alone (ordinary bread) as this has insignificant effect towards our journey of salvation. Matthew 4:4 states that 'man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God'.
Jesus expresses his great love to the people by providing for them their physical bread; and more importantly, letting them understand in details that he is also their spiritual bread. Jesus shows this same love to us too.

Our focus should be entirely on Jesus, not just signs and wonders. In this regard, the people wanted a sign as proof of Jesus' teaching, just as when manna fell down from heaven. However, they failed to realize that Jesus, the true and living bread who comes down from heaven is already in their midst, physically present in flesh and blood.
Jesus declared himself as the only source of life through his teaching of himself as the living bread. He says: 'unless you eat the flesh of the son of man and drink his blood, you will have no life in you, that whoever eats his flesh and drinks his blood has eternal life' (John 6:53). Jesus is the 'son of man' in this bible reference.
Just as the people were disappointed by focusing on the bodily or earthly bread, whoever focuses on earthly food and desires alone will also be disappointed on the day of God's judgement.

Jesus as the living bread emphasized the importance of holy communion in our soul.
Through this teaching, Jesus shows us that he is the loving saviour that provides the food for our body and soul. Meanwhile, it is worthy of note to state that the food for our soul is far more important that that of the body. In regards to this, the gospel of Mark 8:36 states thus: 'what shall it profit a man if he gains the whole world and suffer the loss of his soul'?

Jesus showed this teaching to his apostles the night before he was betrayed by Judas Iscariot. First Corinthians 11:24 states thus: After Jesus took the bread and broke it, he said, 'This is my body that is given up for you. Do this in memory of me'.
Jesus eventually offered his life as a sacrifice for all mankind on the cross of calvary. This is indeed the living bread that came down from heaven, offering his body and blood as the spiritual food for our soul's salvation.

The parable of the prodigal son as narrated by Jesus himself is one that shows God's incomprehensible mercy and love. This parable is present in the gospel of Luke 15: 11-32.
Jesus began by saying:
There was once a man who had two sons. The younger one said to him, 'Father, give me my share of the property now'. So the man divided his properties between his two sons.

From the above passage, it is quite clear that the younger brother had lost interest in the family's affairs. He must have pondered in his heart the sweetness of complete independence on a life of financial abundance.

Adam and Eve disobeyed God while in the Garden of Eden. Below are the consequences of Adam and Eve's disobedience:
All God's creature became guilty of original sin.
Human perfection was lost.
God's judgement was pronounced on the snake, woman and man.
Chaos and disorderliness came upon earth.
Suffering, pain and death was introduced into the world.
The first prophesy was made.
Clothing was made.
Paradise was temporarily lost.

Wise men from the east came to visit the infant king. Upon their arrival, they saw the child with his mother Mary. They knelt down and worshiped the infant (Jesus).
Notice that the bible recorded that the wise men knelt down and worshipped the infant (Jesus), according to Matthew 2:11.
Only God can be worshiped. Jesus is always God, even as a baby.

Frankincense represents a symbol of Jesus' divinity and a sign of worship. Only God can be worshipped; and as such, Jesus is fully God.
Myrrh represents a symbol of Jesus' death. Jesus is truly man, and this is why he was able to suffer and die on the cross.
God created human beings for the following reasons:

Our first parent, Adam and Eve enjoyed a life of complete happiness before they committed sin. They never knew what pain nor sorrow was until they disobeyed God. In short, both were perfect beings until they committed the sin of disobedience against God.
Disobedience may simple be defined as the failure to obey rules, command or someone in authority.
Adam and Eve were the first human beings to disobey God.
